As usual you’ll be spoilt by the sheer quality of tonight’s tracks, and amazed at some of the trash (hello NW10 and Italove), but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Some new, some old and some very old, but that’s the timeless nature of pop music.

And Christmas is coming, in case you haven’t noticed. We already have new Seasonal CD’s from RuPaul (Slay Belles) and LeAnn Rimes (Today Is Christmas) … be afraid, be very afraid. We are still waiting for Kylies Xmas offering … woohoo!

My Song Of The Week is “Feline Resurrection” by J Sutta (the ex PCD). The song is pretty good and the video is amazing in a very bizarre way, so all up a darn good package. Trash pop doesn’t get much better than this. And Jessica is looking hot hot hot!

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

FILM: Freeheld: Brilliant new movie exploring marriage equality in America. Julianne Moore stars as a woman with 4^th stage cancer fighting for the right for her spouse, played by Ellen Page, to inherit her pension when she dies, which seems imminent. This is a very moving movie, and puts up a great argument for marriage equality. Everyone in Australia should see this and become incensed that our governments have procrastinated so much on this issue. Plus the two leads performances are superlative. Honourable mention for Steve Carell as their very gay jewish lawyer/gay rights activist in court.

FILM: The Dressmaker: Another amazing movie, Australian, naturally, about a woman coming back to a very small country town to try to right the wrongs that caused her to get thrown out of the town as a young girl aged 10, apparently for killing a fellow student. The film covers many genres, comedy, thriller, romance, murder mystery. The cast is wonderful, from Kate Winslet, Judy Davis, Hugo Weaving (as a transvestite policeman) to Liam Hemsworth (see below) as the romantic lead and himbo. In combinesall the best things about Priscilla, The Castle, Babe and all those other great movies. You’ve got to see this, it’s really that good.

FILM: Bridge Of Spies: Not a big fan of Tom Hanks, but this spy thriller piqued my interest being set mainly in Berlin during the cold, and negotiations for the swap of a Russian spy captured in America for an American spy captured in Russia. Anyway, it was quite gripping and a must for fans of these war spy thrillers.
