Show 535 / 20 February 2016
Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the gay fun side of trash pop.
Big gay content this week, Blue, The Vamps, Dirty Disco, Ray Isaac, Troye Sivan, Fiorious, Markus Feehily (see picture above) and Peter Wilson. The rest of the show is pretty good too, but we’re so proud of all these out gay artists, and such mega talent.
My Song Of The Week is “Sanctuary” from Markus Feehily. He is the gay one from Westlife, and his debut album Fire has produced 3 great singles, and this is the latest. He does a pretty good power ballad, but if you’re interested the whole album is a really good listen. Uptempo, downtempo, he does ‘em all, his voice is very good. And he comes up with some excellent tunes. The video is also wonderful, about a guy hooked on a closet case. Spoiler alert … no happy ending to that one.
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 4-5pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What have we seen around town this week ?
SHOW : North By Northwest : Brilliant stage adaptation of the Alfred Hitchcock film suspense thriller. Now it’s a comedy too. Through live special effects they manage to stage car chases, train journey’s and plane crashes. Alternately thrilling edge of the seat stuff, then some comedy. Totally clever and innovative.
EVENT : Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo : This was fun for those that like this sort of thing. More emphasis on the brass bands than the pipe bands, but something for everyone including the Basel precision drum corps, the Norwegian drum band and precision drill team, the New Zealand award winning ladies marching team, plus assorted South Pacific entertainers. And it finished with amazing indoor fireworks. Over 1200 performers, this was truly a spectacle.
SHOW : The Ladies In Black : A new musical with music from Tim Finn, it was the stories of and behind a group of salewomen in an upmarket Australian department store, the friendships and the rivalries. The songs were great, and the storyline covered a lot of ground. It was funny, sad, but always entertaining. When it comes on again give this truly Australian show a go. The rest of the current season is booked out.
Dick’s Top 5 Videos
Ray Isaac : Hiding (gay falls for straight man)
Fiorious : No immunity (NYC techno electro)
The Knocks and Matthew Koma : I wish (My Taylor Swift) (cute song)
Milk and Sugar : Ready or not
Middle Milk : Beards (catchy Swedish instrumental)
That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
