It has been 20 years since Sex Drive was released by Italo Records & hiNrg producers Glam, with the iconic, sometimes controversial, gender bending, lead singer of Dead or Alive, Pete Burns.
If you went back to 1994, you would’ve heard this version (the original):
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, the call was put out to find a producer to bring Sex Drive into 2014 without losing what was a defining sound of the time. Melbourne-based producers Linn Lovers got the nod.
James Nairn and Morris Ruberto are Linn Lovers and they chatted with Simon and Michael about how they were selected and how they worked with Pete Burns himself to achieve the sound of the brand new 2014 rework. Back Seat S&M even got the world premiere, first play of the new single, out in October.
