Australian trumpeter, composer and sound artist Peter Knight spoke with David Moyle about creating new traditions of Jazz and World Music – in part through the merging of musical cultures and traditions, and in part through the collaborations or “conversations” between people of differing cultures.
Hear about his performances at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival in both a 3-person-3- solos show on Friday June 8, and in what will be a very ‘convivial’ show as part of the Australian Art Orchestra performing music of Norwegian 12-string Guitarist Kym Myhr with drummer Tony Buck on Saturday June 9.
Both shows are at The Substation in Newport – tickets from the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.
Peter Knight was a guest of Bent Notes on Sunday May 27, 2018.
