Love as Brenton Foster Knows It

Adelaide based composer, pianist and vocalist Brenton Foster visited Bent Notes to chat about the business of music, and launching his brand new work at this years Melbourne International Jazz Festival.  The work is entitled “Love as we know it” and has been produced from his winning the PBS Young Elder of Jazz commission for 2018.

Brenton has produced the song-cycle in collaboration with US poet Christopher Poindexter that speaks of love from a number of different perspectives.

Brenton also talks about the learnings, both musical and business, from his award-winning “Nature of Light” album, and also participating in the Stonnington Jazz Festival where Brenton represented young independent musicians in an industry summit round-table discussion for young Melbourne musicians.

Brenton Foster was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday May 13, 2018.
