Young Melbourne band of three, Koi Kingdom, visited the Bent Notes studio at JOY 94.9 to chat about what the band does, how they have developed, and their debut album Menagerie.
Hear how Cheryl Durongpisitkul, Stephen Hornby and Marcos Villalta chose the name of the band (no deep meaning but it has shaped their music!) and improvise together using a Jazz approach as the starting point and working out from there!
Koi Kingdom enjoy the interactivity of improvising together and love the playfulness and weirdness too!
From Sep 28 Koi Kingdom are touring:
- Hotel Blue in Katoomba on the 28th of September
- 29th at Halfback Books in Dee Why Sydney
- 2nd of October at Boho Grove Hibernian House Surrey House Sydney
- 3rd of October at Hippo and Co Canberra
Koi Kingdom was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday August 26, 2018
