Sydney based Trumpeter Tom Avgenicos was a licensed busker at 12 years of age and recalls the day he saw his music teacher Warwick Alder play trumpet at a live gig – his immediate thought was “How did you do that?” Well, Tom now knows how!
Tom and the members of his band, Delay 45, all went through the Sydney Conservatorium of Music together, and have interests across Hip-Hop, Pop-Rock, and Experimental Electronic music. Their Album – BIG EARS is a through composed suite where each track leads directly onto the next because Tom discovered during his studies that by cutting out the gaps between pieces he could fit so much more music into his allotted time!
Tom is looking forward to coming down to Melbourne early in 2020. In the meantime check out Big Ears and Delay 45.
Tom Avgenicos was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday November 3, 2019
