Kristin Berardi joined Dave Fuller from the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues to chat with David Moyle on Bent otes about the importance of the National Jazz Awards, and their featuring of the Vocal instrument this year.
Kristin competed in the competition in 2005, and won the award in 2012. Winning the competition has opened doors for Kristin, and provided the opportunity to share the stage with many amazing musicians.
Dave discusses the challenges of running a competition such as the National Jazz Awards in a year where COVID restrictions have hit so hard, and how the committee have identified the means by which the competition can be run this year.
Nominations close August 31, but intending competitors should contact the committee through the website if they are having difficulty recording three pieces by that date due to the COVID restrictions.
Kristin Berardi and Dave Fuller were guest of Bent Notes on Sunday August 23, 2020
