Matt Thomson won the National Jazz Award last year and this year he gets to enjoy being a featured artist at the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues.
Matt talks about his experience last year in the awards, his love of composing, and the need to play honestly when performing.
Matt also talks about his band at this year’s festival – Drummer Alex Hirlian (winner of the NJA in 2018), and bass player Jacques Emery.
