Returning to Melbourne after 5 years in New York, Dan Bolton visited the Bent Notes studio to chat with David Moyle about creating his 21st Century Standards, and launching his latest album – Living To Regret It.
Dan describes his songs as telling stories from his world and experiences, set in the classic Jazz standard stylings of Gershwin, Porter and Berlin, and how he started his musical experiences in the Blues and Rock ‘n Roll genres before discovering Jazz – and how Blues, Rock ‘n Roll and Country music can be viewed as variations upon a Jazz theme.
Dan launches his latest CD on Saturday June 30, 2018 at the Rising Sun Hotel, Raglan Street South Melbourne, accompanied by Paul Van Ross (woodwinds), Damien Ellis (drums), and Philip Rex (bass).
Dan Bolton was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday June 24, 2018 (where he met Rex)
