Jam Jar Befriends The Children

Lauren Mullarvey sings and plays clarinet in one of Melbourne’s newest  Trad Jazz Bands –  Jam JarLauren visited the Bent Notes studio to chat with David Moyle about  putting the band together and the ways that Jam Jar differs from the Trad Jazz band of the past by incorporating their contemporary experiences into their trad-based music.

Jam Jar are performing at a benefit concert to support the work of a community project called “Befriend A Child In Detention” who arrange to send reading books, coloring books and letters to children in detention to make a positive connection with the children and their families to ameliorate their experience, to raise awareness of their circumstances and to advocate for positive change.

Jam Jar performs in JAMMIN’4REFUGEES in support of Children in Detention on Saturday August 4 from 3-5pm at The Christ Church Hall, 10 Glenlyon Road, Brunswick.

Lauren Mullarvey was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday July 29, 2018
