The Human Voice as a Trombone and Bell Award Winner

Winner of the 2019 Australian Jazz Bell Award for the Best Australian Jazz Vocal Album is Josh Kyle, who spoke with David Moyle on Bent Notes the week after winning the award.

The winning album – Josh Kyle – Trombone Song Cycle, features the voice of Josh Kyle magically merging with the trombone sweetness of four of Australia’s greatest trombone players – James Macaulay, James Greening, Jordan Murray and Adrian Sheriff, arranged by Andrew Murray.

Hear what Josh has to say about the beauty of pairing the male voice with the Trombone, and  why it was such a passionate project for him, continuing his exploration of Jazz, in this situation using wordless voice.

Josh Kyle was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday September 29, 2019
