Pianist, Composer, Arranger, Musical Director, Vocalist and Trumpeter Jack Earl spoke with David Moyle about his excitement getting out to play gigs, enjoying the enthusiasm and energy from the audiences – and finally getting the opportunity to get his Big Band back on the road to the Hawthorn Arts Centre where Alma Zygier will be their special guest vocalist.
Singing the great charts from the pre-war days of Jazz, Alma has a voice that reflects the greats such as Ella Fitzgerald, Bessie Smith, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holiday – with the music of the Broadway composers George Gershwin, Jerome Kern, Cole Porter and Richard Rodgers, amongst so many more.
Jack Earle was guest of Bent Notes on Sunday February 27, 2022
