History, Management & Marketing, News & Politics, Society & Culture, TV & Film, Visual Arts

Broad April 18

This 3rd show contains an interview with comics artist and creator Alisha Jade on the Banksia Project and what that will mean to female creatives who frequent pop-culture events and Banksia will enable them to promote themselves and shine a light on their work.

In the studio Donna Zen from the Melbourne Period Project talks about what the organisation and what it does and who are the people affected by homelessness and need this service ( which is amazingly only 10 months old).

Lauren Stardust does a segment about the topic of Panels at conventions a this years Supanova com. and the Cosplay and Consent: ‘The culture of Cosplay is one of fun, creativity, and mutual respect. Unfortunately, not every fan adheres to the “respect” part. Cosplay is NOT Consent – and cosplayers who dress in (sometimes) revealing costumes should not accept inappropriate behavior from their peers. Speak out; speak up; and help keep cosplay comfortable and fun!’

Lauren Valmadre the Film Programer for this years Human Rights Arts and Film Festival, comes into the studio to talk about some of the highlights in the 2016 program.

Bad Bitches of History this week features Ching Shih, a female pirate!
