Checkpoint Intimates: The Gamertag Conversation

Checkpoint Intimates is a weekly podcast where two members of the team go one-on-one on a topic that they both feel strongly about, talking in a more deeper and, yes, intimate context.

This week, Elliot and Cam are on board to discuss what usernames people use when playing video games – commonly known as their Gamertag. Why do people choose certain usernames? Does much thought go into it? In many cases a gamertag on a service is permanent and unable to be changed. Sometimes there is a fee that is charged for the right to modify it. This means you could theoretically be stuck with the same username for years and years.

How are video game usernames perceived by others? Where do you get your influence from? Are they super meaningful or not meaningful at all? Have they changed for you as you mature?

For all the latest updates as always, head to our official website at checkpointgaming.net.
