HEROES is a celebration of the history-making first AFL Women’s season from its breathtaking opening night through to its dramatic conclusion – as told by football’s new wave of pioneers. ABCTV Thursday 31 Aug 2017, 9:25pm.

Game Changers Panel Discussion Sunday 3 September 2-3 pm. Hear from AFLW players and commentator Sam Lane: the panel will reflect on the efforts of those who campaigned for the womens’ league, as well as its unique diversity and position to make positive change in the game of AFL. Sam Lane, Australian AFL writer and award winning journalist; Emma Swanson, playing for the GWS Giants in the AFLW; Kirby Bentley, Vice Captain of the Fremantle Football Club in the AFLW Aasta O’Connor playing for the Western Bulldogs in the AFLW; Elise O’Dea vice-captain for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFLW.
