In Tremor, his latest creation, interdisciplinary performance artist Ashley Dyer and collaborators explore the interconnectedness of movement and sound. Dancers perform with a giant musical instrument of brass and aluminium poles that, when charged with sound, move like a grassfield.
The show was created from ideas that sprang from the team playing with vibrating objects, such as hand held game controllers and sex toys, amongst other things.
Catch Ashley’s enthusiasm as he talks with David and Sue about this ingenious work.
Tremor will be on at the Arts house from 16-20 November.
If you’re interested in different music, different instruments, you might also like to listen to the Friday Drive podcast with Jonathan Mills about Cultural Collisions, a series of events on now until 23 Oct.
