INTERVIEW: Lucy Schmidt & Scott Jackson from Melbourne Playback Theatre on their two shows “Little Big Surprise” & “Little White Lies”

David & Sue talk to Lucy Schmidt & Scott Jackson from Melbourne Playback Theatre on their two current shows “Little Big Surprise” which is storytelling and improv for kids and “Little White Lies” which is storytelling and improv for adults. Both shows are on at the Northcote Town Hall on the weekend of 16-17-18 November 2018. So if you were ever told white lies when you were a kid, come along and tell your story and see it turn into a theatrical piece in front of your eyes. You can book tickets for both shows via the Melbourne Playback Theatre Website or at the Northcote Town Hall website. Sounds very therapeutic

Here’s some info from their website about Little Big Surprise which is for kids:

Come and tell your story and see it turned into your very own show! You might be littler than the adults, you might seem small, but we know that really you’re a giant inside!! This is a special show for young people where you get to share how BIG you feel, and have a team of actors and musicians turn your story into an amazing show on the spot. Come and share your big adventures, your big dreams, your big magical world, and hear stories from other ‘giants in disguise’ (aka kids) too! 60 minute show, suitable for ages 5 and up (though littler ones are more than welcome too).  Saturday 17th November, 10.30am and Sunday 18th November, 10.30am.

Here’s some info from their website about Little White Lies which is for adults:

A night of storytelling, theatre and little white lies. We’ve all done it and we’ll all continue to do it – shifting the truth slightly to let a path run a little smoother. When it all goes well, you might call them acts of secret service, but when the proverbial hits the fan, well… A moral conundrum shared is a moral conundrum halved, so they say, so join us to unearth stories from the slightly submerged truth. We’re all human, and we’ve all got stories that sit just below the surface – you might be surprised by what you have in common with your neighbour. Come and see these little white lies turn into unforgettable theatre. Friday 16th November, 7.30pm and Saturday 17th November, 7.30pm
