INTERVIEW: Karen Bryant – Midsumma CEO – tells us all about this years Midsumma Festival

Midsumma Festival 2019 starts on Saturday 19th January and David & John are joined by the Midsumma Festival CEO Karen Bryant who tells us everything about this year’s festival from the carnival on Sunday 20th Jan, the Pride March and its new time of 11 am on Sunday 3 Feb, the Midsumma extravaganza on Tuesday 29 Jan at Hamer Hall and the kick-off event this Saturday which is the Consent Festival.

The Consent Festival is a new part of Midsumma and is a festival within a festival! Kick off your Midsumma Festival with this one-day, special event to explore conversations that connect ideas of consent with LGBTQIA+ communities, welcoming intersectionality and accessibility. Engage through open forums, practical workshops, deep-dive discussions, and even sparkling performances, all inside a safe space to unpack the taboos, share experiences, and unite in passion and curiosity.

You can, of course, find all the info and book events through the Midsumma website but be quick as some events are selling fast and some have already sold out.
