Gadgets, Skynet & Magic Metal

This week Clayton, Michael and Mark were at the Technology and Gadget Expo searching for new and interesting ideas and happened to bump into an ex-Olympic rower who is using smart phones to help improve athletic performance. We also spoke to Hackathon Queen Michelle Mannering about her involvement with Women in the Tech space.

We saw a program aimed at children to foster encouragement in STEM (Science, Technology,  Engineering and Math) whilst narrowly avoided being harpooned by wayward rockets fired by numerous children

Raena joined us from Wellington whilst we were in studio where we had a brief look at the newly released movie Terminator 2 3D, whose only change from the original movie (apart from being in 3D) was to remove a continuity error involving a broken window. Australian scientists have created metal that removes impurities from water and have also worked out a way to use the more abundant metal zinc to replace lithium in batteries.

This and much more in this weeks show of Geeks Out!
