From 1985 until 2001, L7 was a formidable force that, in true punk fashion, left a little bit of controversy in their wake. They inspired many a noisy grrl band, but in 2001 they called it quits when everything just became too much.
Then, in 2014, due to popular demand, Donita Sparks got the band back together. Now they’re hitting the road, and will play Melbourne later this year.
Until then, here’s a chat I had with SparksĀ about – amongst other things – why, after 13 years, L7 is back on stage.
