Straight Outta Adelaide

The South Australian Music Awards are less than a month away, so this week I decided to shine the GlitterBOMB spotlight on Adelaide! Dare to pop your Melbourne music bubble and check out some of the amazing South Australian artists featured on my playlist from Saturday 15th October (in italics)… I promise you’ll be glad you did!

Ellie <3

  1. NAKATOMI – Alive   Lush, dark, synthy electro-pop act from Adelaide – influenced by 80s dark wave pop, modern EDM, Sci-fi and Madonna… Intrigued? www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYSFCdPxd5Q
  2. AlunaGeorge – Jealous
  3. George Maple – Lover
  4. HABITS – Gerger   HABITS were recommended to me by a friend as a great, local, queer band, and he was so right! Sad goth party jams FTW.
  5. Polographia – Feels Alright ft. Looks Fade
  6. Kate Tempest – Whoops   Probably the catchiest, funniest track off her new album, Let Them Eat Chaos.
  7. Confidence Man – Boyfriend (Repeat)  A repeat play for this sassy little number.
  8. FOALS – My Number
  9. The 1975 – The Sound (Vasta Remix)   My not-so-Guilty-Pleasure for this week – The 1975 are my favourite pop-rock teen heartthrobs…
  10. Shura – What’s It Gonna Be?
  11. suiix – alright   Kooky synthpop from Sydney girl Sarah Jullienne and co. Kinda like Grimes, but with a more delicate touch.
  12. Resin Moon – Awake   A big, bright pop-gem from an Alice Springs band.
  13. MANE – Bitter   2016 SAM Award Nominee: Most Popular Pop Artist, Best New Artist, Best Female Artist, Best Release. A sexy blues track played for Liz and the rest of Adelaide’s Southern Blues dancers. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXBmVdYbaU8
  14. God God Dammit Dammit – Soul Dice   2016 SAM Award Nominee: Most Popular Rock Artist, Best Group, Best Music Video (Aaron Schuppan for God God Dammit Dammit’s ‘Kazoo’). For lovers of funk, soul and rock’n’roll. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bcmNcMene4M&list=PLSw7aAYVlZArOy2zahmoswBSDLB01Lhga

  18. Azealia Banks – Atm Jam ft. Pharrell (Kaytranada Remix)
  19. Motez – Down Like This ft. Tkay Maidza   2016 SAM Award Nominee: Best Song. Adelaide producer Motez gets together with fellow Adelaide rap-force Tkay Maidza. I’m looking forward to hearing her debut album, due for release on the 20th October! www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-Jc9IobnVk
  20. Zeds Dead x NGHTMRE – frontlines ft. GG Magree
