And When The Sun Goes Down, We Go Dancing.
It has started getting sunny here in Melbourne, and these perfect first-hint-of-summer days in Australia make me homesick for their British equivalent and the sense of urgency that accompanies them; in the UK we rush straight to the park or the beer garden or the rooftop because it may never happen again… And that one day feels like it will never end, as the sun won’t start to set until 9 or 10pm, and the warmth lingers in the ground and in your sunburnt skin… And when the sun goes down, we go dancing, and we will walk home as it rises again.
I indulged my homesickness, and put together a bit of a British summertime selection for you (tracks 16-20). I hope it transported you to a summer rooftop party on the other side of the world, at least for twenty minutes or so…
You can check out the full playlist from Saturday 8th October below.
