Building on the resiliency that many LGBTI people have and taking a strengths based approach to positive mental health and wellbeing are cornerstones of the MindOUT! LGBTI Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Project.
Mental health promotion theory has significantly developed over the past ten years with an increasing base of evidence and literature informing program development, implementation and evaluation. So what does effective mental health promotion mean when you apply it to LGBTI communities?
The MindOUT! Project convened a task group of representatives from the LGBTI communities and the fields of mental health promotion and suicide prevention to develop a LGBTI Mental Health Promotion Framework. This presentation outlines the purpose and the key features of the Framework.
