Health in Difference 2013

18 Apr 2013

Strength In Diversity

Intersex, Trans and Gender Diversity, Mental Health and Suicide Prevention

Presenter: Peter Hyndal and Jennie Yates, A Gender Agenda

In 2011, A Gender Agenda ran a pilot “Social Inclusion Project” with funds from the ACT Health Promotion Grants Program. To the best of our knowledge, this $69,000 grant was the first, and certainly largest amount of project funds ever provided to an otherwise unfunded trans/intersex organisation in Australia. The project, “Strength in Diversity: Building a Healthy Sex and Gender Diverse Community” aimed to address the social isolation faced by people of diverse sex and gender within the ACT.
