PASH STUDY Revealed

On the very first episode of Hide and Seek, some 18 months ago, Dean Beck interviewed Dr. Pol McCann from the National Centre in HIV Epidemiology and Clinical Research (University of NSW), regarding a research study exploring gay & bisexual men’s attitudes and experiences toward sex and pleasure.

The PASH (Pleasure & Sexual Health) STUDY was to become the largest geographical exploration of gay men’s sexual behaviour. This is the first study of its type to focus on the motivation of pleasure and the negotiation of risk. It is the most up to date study of its kind and will form health promotion campaigns for years to come.

Hide and Seek talks to Michael Hurley and Ian Down following their presentation of the key findings from PASH to the Victorian HIV Health Care sector. The latest results from the HIV Seroconversion Study were also presented and together with guest commentator Daniel Reeders, we explore just why condoms and lube aren’t stopping gay men seroconverting.

This show, Episode #061 originally aired in December, 2010
