This is Ken’s Story

Two Melbourne men tell their stories of what life is like living with HIV. Their uninterrupted narrative delivers a powerful message to HIV negative men who are increasingly fucking without condoms. Importantly, their stories combining crystal meth, sexual exploration and sexually transmissible infections including hep C, shed light on what really happens in the lives of our gay men; our community; our Melbourne.

38 year old Ken was working overseas, partying and playing in the sexual prime of his life. Managing risk whilst fuelling sexual explorations with crystal meth resulted in Ken contracting HIV on just the third occasion he had sex without a condom.

His transition from someone with living with HIV to a man managing AIDS took just 3 years. Now 50 and medically retired, Ken’s challenging and at times confronting story is a battle of survival. It’s also a story of a man who refuses to be a victim, his amazing resilience, enlightened wisdom and hope.

These are the stories never heard, but they are stories they wanted told…for those who will listen.
