Michael and Owen unpack everything blood this week. Michael sits down (at a distance) with Nice Holas from The Institute of Many to talk about the recent announcement that the TGA will reduce the deferral period for gay/bi/queer mens blood donations down to 3 months of abstinence. This brings us in line with countries like the UK and Canada – but why do we need a deferral period at all? Is this rooted in science (or a lack therof) or homophobia?
