Shelley Argent OAM is the National spokesperson for Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays or PFLAG and is President of the Brisbane chapter of that organisation. On Monday 19th of July Australian Story on the ABC is titled ‘Mums the Word’. It is Shelley’s story of her love for her gay son James and her fight to ensure James has the same rights as her straight son. Shelley is one of our Nation’s treasures and a true inspiration for the GLBTIQ community.
