Tonight’s episode of Hot Bread is called “Over The Rainbow” and is dedicated to my dear friend, and mentor, Bill Patterson, who passed away this week at his home in Trentham.

Bill

Bill was on the frontline, and a first responder, to the AIDS crisis in the 80’s and 90’s, and later came to mentor countless people to empower themselves while living with HIV. For me, Bill was my mentor both in NAPWHA and ViiV Healthcare. If it wasn’t for Bill I would not have had the courage to expect more when more was needed, and I would not have advocated for myself, in a time when advocating for yourself was most important.

I will always remember this quote from Bill, when I was inconsolable after the death of my lover. “How lucky we are to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

May Bill rest in Power.

Tonight I have the pleasure of introducing one of the newest members of the Hot Bread Bakery team. You will know the Fabulous Adz, from Joy Daytimes and I am so honoured to have Adz on the team. You’re going to get a sneak preview of what he is going to bring to the bakery, and I know you are going to love it because everyone loves Madonna.

Tonight you’re also going to hear The Young Divas, Zara Larsson, David Guetta, Madonna, Kim Carnes, Christie Allan, Cormac and Chinaski. Finishing the episode with Killteq, D’Has and Klaas.
As we know, The 80’s, 90’s and Naughties were a time when the dress code was casual and you more than likely lost your shirt, but found your community. The dance floors were sticky, the DIVAS were uplifting, and you were likely to end the night at a taco truck, and “Getting bread – and coffee” with What’s-Your-Name. I truly hope you enjoy the tunes tonight.
