In a geeky special, this week covers Pausefest, with two speakers coming on board to discuss their involvement.
With the growing trend of 3D printing, Angela Hart from Swinburne University talks of the legal and ethical ramifications of creating something potentially dangerous at home. A law expert, Angela also chimes in on how social media seems to know more and more about personal interests and habits, bordering on invasion of privacy.
The other guest, Peter McMann from the State Library of Victoria, appears in a pre-recorded interview for his seminar on the continued importance of libraries. The increase of digital technology is regarded as the next step for the local library, not a replacement for a museum of books, as Peter suggests.
Aired on the 8th of February 2016.
