Tonight, the team concentrates on White privilege and racism.
They talk with Jack Charles, respected Aboriginal actor and commentator about his lived experience of everyday racism and his recent appearance on Q&A. Jack is a member of the Stolen Generation who later discovered his heritage as a Birrarung and Wurundjeri man.
Also on is one of their favourite guests, the Black Feminist Ranter, Celeste Liddle. Celeste lives now in Melbourne but she is an Aranda woman from Alice Springs with family ties to well known Aboriginal Families.
Jack and Celeste range across the Recognise campaign, why not all Aboriginal people support it, the need for a real conversation with White Australia, and the strength a Treaty would bring to the debate.
We agree; let’s have a Treaty with our First Nation people then talk about their place in our constitution; define rights then codify them and let’s respect each other. These are guests whose voices should be heard and who we will have back.
Aired on 8th of June, 2015.
