Robot doctors can deliver bad news – but should they?

Would you want to be told devastating medical news by a robot doctor?

A telepresence robot recently delivered a terminal diagnosis to a family in California. And they could not be more disappointed with the medical practitioners involved.

Is this the future of medicine? Or is it a new out for doctors who don’t have the guts to deliver bad news to patients in person?
