Interview: Jebena Genie, the first African-Australian comedy web series

Comedian Sam Gebreselassie and actor Sami Obama chat to Producer Annie about their new show, where a life insurance salesman finds a genie inside a coffee pot.

Sam and Sami collaborated on other sketches, including a parody of the TV show ‘The Bachelor’ before coming up with the idea for the quirky, Aladdin-inspired ‘Jebena Genie’.

The pair discuss how they’ve created their own channels for promoting diversity and their big plan to catch the attention of Will Smith and get Jebena Genie off the ground.
