Can your digital assistant keep a secret?

Is your digital assistant or smart phone device listening to you and recording every word you say? And if so, can it keep a secret?

Who has access to this information? What does this mean for your privacy and the regulation of the technology companies and governments who collect your data?

The ACCC has issued a warning against Australians using devices such as Alexa or Google Home.

Is the ACCC out of touch, or do they have good reason to issue the warning?
