LGBT Domestic Violence Awareness with Cal from Well Well Well

Cal returns to JOY Breakfast with Rach and Dean to discuss LGBT Domestic Violence Awareness Day

A sobering 42% of our LGBTIQ+ community have experienced intimate partner violence, and 39% have faced violence from a family member. These aren’t just numbers, they’re real people, and we’re in this fight together.
According to the “Sorting It Out” research by Western Sydney University, experiences of homophobia and discrimination can contribute to domestic violence. Non-conformity to masculine stereotypes can lead to stigmatization and increase the risk of violence. It’s a complex issue, but we believe our inclusive ice hockey community can make a difference.
If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. Reach out to:

Together, let’s take a stand against domestic violence and create a safer, more inclusive world for everyone.
