On October 14th, Australians will have their say in a referendum about changing the Constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing a body called the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. And in the lead up to this, we have seen a lot of different information telling people why they should vote YES or NO.
While the question on the ballot is relatively simple ‘What do you say to the proposed law to alter the constitution to recognise the First Peoples of Australia by establishing an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Vote’, the debate about it has been anything but.
And one artist using their platform and their voice to support the Voice is BEKS, who is not only known for community development projects but also some fantastic tunes we love hearing here on JOY Breakfast.
