Multiple sclerosis affects more young people than any other chronic neurological condition, with an average age of diagnosis at 30 years old.
It can strike anyone, any time, and the symptoms vary widely. You can wake up one day and all of a sudden your world has changed, unable to do the things you would usually take for granted.
There is currently no cure for Multiple Sclerosis, which is why raising awareness, and fundraising can help make a significant change to the lives of over 33,000 people living with multiple sclerosis in Australia.
One of these fundraising Mega Challenges is the MS MEGASWIM, a team relay challenge that’s taking place this weekend at Fitzroy Pools; and the Glamourheads, Melbourne’s largest masters swimming clubsthat provide an environment for LGBTIQA+ swimmers to train, compete & get fit are doing their part swimming continuously for 24 hours to raise funds to support people living with MS.
Beto from the Glamourheads tells Rach & Dean about it and you can donate to their fundraiser and find out more here.
