Gossip Gay – Trans Allyship and Lesbian Cartoons oh my

Legendary LGBTQ+ ally David Tennant breaks the internet with another amazing trans rights t-shirt

· Tennant, appeared as the Time Lord in the BBC’s long running sci-fi show Doctor Who from 2005 to 2010.

· He has been pictured wearing a shirt emblazoned with the phrase “You will have to go through me’” in the pink, white & blue trans flag, while also holding a progress Pride flag.

· The picture was shared by his wife, Georgia Tennant, on her Instagram account. It’s the third image in a carousel of photos of the whole family celebrating “School Pride”.

· The David Tennant trans rights picture was quickly reshared to X/Twitter and been received with gratitude by the queer community.

· People also left thousands of comments on the original Instagram post.

· This isn’t the first time David Tennant has proved an ally. In 2023, he donned a rainbow pin badge in the colours of the non-binary flag in support of one of his children who is reportedly non-binary.

· Other photos, taken during Pride in London weekend, showed him wearing a badge that said: “You are safe with me” and the same day he wore a shirt that yelled: “Leave trans kids alone, you absolute freaks.”

· He has also appeared in video campaign message alongside Dannii Minogue, to remind transgender youngsters that they are loved.

Disney Confirmed Character Joy from Pixar’s ‘Inside Out’ Is a Lesbian?

· The alleged confirmation that the character is gay followed the June 14 release of “Inside Out 2,” which reportedly lit up global box offices. · On June 16, 2024, the X account @LyricVault made a viral post suggesting that Joy, a character voiced by Amy Poehler is lesbian – however all content on this site is satirical and not factual. But this got me thinking – who are some other famous lesbian characters of the screen?

1. Yara Greyjoy from Game Of Thrones –she would casually be with women without it being explicitly mentioned that she liked girls.

2. Peppermint Patty from Peanuts – she wore green and stripes and Birkenstocks & was a great role model for kids who were called “tomboys.”

3. Poussey from Orange is the New Black – one of the best-written lesbian characters. The way she experienced her emotions and the gentleness of the way she treated her partners was done with such positivity that you don’t always see in mainstream media.

4. Bette from The L Word – She was strong, fierce, successful, volatile, passionate, and outspoken.

5. Santana from Glee – really come into her own and learn to not only accept but also love herself in terms of her sexuality kind + it was a truly awesome sight seeing someone who wasn’t straight as a main character.

6. Willow Rosenberg from Buffy – is one of the most iconic characters in TV history.

7. Cate Blanchett in ‘Carol’ – is fantastically chic in tailored suiting and berets, Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, luxurious leather gloves, and vintage Van Cleef & Arpels jewellery.

8. The Women of WENTWORTH – the Aussie drama represented many strongly independent & tough queer / lesbian characters during it’s 9 seasons.
