Wednesday Breakfast: Callum Warrender – From The Voice to Opera, Housewives Chaos & Temu Josh Groban

Arts, LGBTQIA+, Music, Performing Arts, Singer, Uncategorized

Powerhouse tenor Callum Warrender joins JOY Breakfast to spill on life after The Voice (Season 12), touring with The Ten Tenors, and how he accidentally became known as the “TEmu Josh Groban.”

Callum shares why reality TV felt like the “worst thing ever” at the time but turned out to be the turning point that gave him a career as a full-time singer. He also takes us behind the scenes of the wild Bring Back My Wives tour, where he went from rubbing oil on Laganja Estranja to corseting Eureka O’Hara (yes, that was his actual job for the day).

We also dive into:
Callum’s upcoming performance with opera superstar Danielle de Niese at the Melbourne Recital Centre
The rise of contemporary Australian opera, including Indigenous-led works that reimagine the artform
The art of making opera sound operatic with an Aussie accent (yes, he gives the team a mini vocal lesson live on air!)
His dream to tour Australia with musical theatre and the honesty about not yet being ready to release original music

It’s witty, warm, and a gorgeous mix of queer joy, classical chops, and camp Housewives energy.
