Wednesday Breakfast: Fabio Cataffi Interview – Tina Turner Drag, Nutbush Lines & Legs for Days

Arts, Comedy, LGBTQIA+, Performing Arts

JOY Breakfast welcomes Fabio Cataffi — Melbourne’s premier Tina Turner drag impersonator — ahead of his dazzling cabaret A Night with Tina at Memo Music Hall.

Fabio shares how a cheeky moment at a dance party as a teen led to a lifelong connection with Tina, performing everywhere from Festival Hall to casinos, art centres, and DT’s. He spills on the evolution from corporate gigs to full-scale productions with dancers, sequins, and, of course, the shortest skirts possible to show off those famous “Tina legs.”

We get stories of:
✨ Nutbush audience participation (yes, lesbians everywhere rejoice).
✨ Decades of dance and TV gigs, from Hay Hey It’s Saturday to the Logies.
✨ Cruise ship rehearsals in LA (and why he decided seven months at sea wasn’t for him).
✨ The spark Tabitha Turlington gave him to bring Tina back to the stage.

High energy, camp glamour, and a whole lotta Proud Mary — this interview celebrates queer artistry and the magic of Tina’s legacy.
