Queer Sporting Alliance is Australia and New Zealand’s premier LGBTIQA+ sporting club, and the largest queer community sporting club that you’ve probably never even heard of. This week as part of Pride Month they are celebrating Q League, Australia’s first community basketball league led by, and built for queer folk with an epic Rainbow Round.
With QSA, the priority is participation over performance, with a strict ‘no try outs’ policy and non-binary rules, Q League aims to make community sport more accessible, providing an equal chance for anyone to get involved, regardless of their experience.
President and Founder of QSA Stella Lesic joined Rach & Dean on JOY Breakfast to tell them all about it.
Wednesday 27th June, QSA are hosting a big queer basketball celebration with their Rainbow Round in Thornbury and everyone is welcome to come along. There’s not only a series of awesome basketball matches, theirs live DJs, giveaways, refreshments, and performances by The Huxleys. But also, this is a great opportunity for you see what Queer Sporting Alliance are all about. Inclusive basketball were you get to bring your whole self to the court, no matter how you identify.
Head to Narrangjeri Stadium in Thornbury Wednesday or e-mail info@queersportingalliance.com for more info.
