Queer Playwriting Award Showcase applications open

A collaboration between Gasworks Arts Park & Midsumma Festival, the annual Queer Playwriting Award Showcase supports and develops new playwriting talent and elevates queer issue into the sites of mainstream audiences. This development program aims to identify, support and develop new playwriting talent and get queer issues out there for mainstream audiences to consider and enjoy. The LGBTQIA+ community is diverse, exciting and full of stories and ideas that deserve to be heard on the stages of performing arts venues throughout the country.

Applications for proposals are open now for the annual Queer Playwrighting Award Showcase, and close on the 2nd of July. If you have an idea that’s been brewing, why not submit a proposal and your work could be chosen to feature during the Midsumma Festival next year and become the next queer play to be touring the country.

Head to the Gasworks or Midsumma website for more information.
