Welcome to the 3rd hour of the Midsumma Carnival Day outside broadcast, which was brought to you live from the JOY 94.9 Community stage in Alexandra Gardens. With a myriad of arts, cultural, sports and community events to experience, the Midsumma festival celebrates Melbourne’s queer communities in all their diversity. Carnival Day brings everyone together to kick off the 3 week celebration of all things rainbow!

In our 3rd hour Ginni, Adam & Michele presenting were joined by a variety of guests for a chat and a song or two.

Those guests were:

Tod Strike and Nigel Huckle belted out a beautiful number from Harvey Milk the Opera in Concert.
Lisa Daniel, Director of Melbourne Queer Film Festival.
Geraldine Hickey from the Laugh Out Loud Big Gay Comedy Night which features your favourite comedy stars from radio, stage and screen
Eleanor from Minus 18 shared with us what happening for Minus 18 during Midsumma.
Tim, who was one of the models being body painted with the art of the late Adam Cullen, (from the Arts Series Cullen Hotel)
Ann-Louise from JOY’s own Around the World in 80 Gays.
Daniel Andrews, Premier of Victoria.
SJ and Amelia from Youthworks.
Anita from Berry Street Foster Care, shares with us what being a foster carer is like and what Berry Street does in the community.
Michael Griffiths sung a tune and shared with us the story behind his latest Cabaret show, Adolescent.
Adam, Ginni and Michelle then wrapped up the Carnival day broadcast with a preview of the Dog show and things coming up including the charity fun run Cupids Undie Run, held on Valentine’s day every year, which raises funds for the children’s tumour foundation of Australia.
