This is the first hour of our four hour broadcast of the annual Pride Cup.
Pride Cup celebrates diversity and inclusion in sport for the lesbian, gay, transgender, bisexual and intersex (LGBTI) communities by tackling homophobia in Australian Rules Football.
What started out in 2014 as celebration match between traditional rivals Yarra Glen and Yarra Junction has turned into a strong symbol for inclusion in Australia’s favourite sport. The 2015 Pride Cup was held on Sunday May 17 at Yarra Glen Recreation Reserve to mark International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO).
JOY 94.9 is a proud radio partner to the Pride Cup and our broadcast on the day was made possible by the Australian Football League – providing a sport that is safe, welcoming and inclusive for all and we thank the support of our broadcast partner Yarra Valley FM, plus Yarra Ranges Council, SaysDavid and Mercedes-Benz.
