Pride March 2017 Interview Flashback with Cr Bernadene Voss (City of Port Phillip Mayor)
In this interview flashback to the 2017 Pride March in Melbourne on January 29th, 2017. Macca and Tass speak with Cr Bernadene Voss (City of Port Phillip Mayor). In 2016 the Port Phillip Mayor said the City of Port Phillip is proud to take part in the annual Midsumma Festival, which supports and gives a voice to the LGBTI community. “The City of Port Phillip is a strong supporter of the LGBTI community and each year we fund Midsumma Festival’s Pride March with $50,000 to help promote equality, diversity and sexual freedom across our city,” Cr Voss said. “Queer culture is an integral part of our community, giving it diversity, life and colour. By looking at the history of St Kilda’s queer culture, we can see how far we’ve come in accepting the LGBTI community in the last 100 years, and also how much further we are to go.”
