AFL Homophobic Slur – Pride in Sport’s reaction

Over the past few decades, there have been great strides in sport becoming a more inclusive, welcoming and safe space for the Rainbow community.
There are a huge number of sporting codes and organisations working hard to counter homophobia and transphobia in sport and increasingly holding coaches, fans and players to account.
Beau Newell, National Program Manager – Pride In Sport and joins Warren and Malcolm to talk us through a watershed moment that occurred during an AFL match last week, the penalty laid down by the AFL, the reaction from the public and the impact on the LGBTIQA+ community.
