Professor Cassandra Cross: Mastercard Changes

A significant change is coming to the way we use credit and debit cards. Mastercard has announced that by 2030, the familiar 16-digit numbers on our cards will be removed to help reduce fraud. Instead, we will be using tokenisation and biometric authentication – technologies such as fingerprints, facial recognition and digital tokens.

But while this may make payments more secure, it also raises new concerns.
