Eythor and the journey

Eythor Ingi is the long haired wonder from Iceland, who sings my top pick for Semi 2, Ég á líf.
Speaking to the press after his powerful dress rehearsal, Ingi shared that he is singing for his wife and three children and needed to do so in front of a huge TV audience because (jokingly) he “… can’t do it at home.”
“Everyone can connect to the song,” Ingi told the audience as he explained how important his three children are to him.
When asked about his first memories of Eurovision, Iceland’s 1997 entry, Minn Hinsti Dans by Paul Oscar was the one that has stayed with him. As a child, Ingi saw the performance on TV and was taken aback when Oscar “did this sexual thing, with these wives around him. I just sit there and asked my mum, ‘What is he doing?!’ and yeah, so that influenced me… I just said, ‘That’s something I want to do.'”
The delegation finished up with a huge rendition of the entry, Ég á líf.
