Natalie is Glorious
Natalie from Cascada spoke to the media today after her first round of rehearsals on the Eurovision stage.
The singer, part of the German group Cascada, is performing Glorious in the Grand Final on Saturday night. She told the press that she had been having some vocal problems, but with the right treatment, they’re ok now. Natalie is also excited about the energy from the audience, saying “… even though it’s not a full audience, it really does help to give you that feeling that people will be watching.”
The singer’s father is a talented musician, and she told the press that they are close and talk about gigs a lot. However, he has a gig on Saturday night so will not be able to see his daughter perform in Malmö.
After being asked about how they entered the German national selection, Natalie explained that it was the label, Universal, that approached the band. She is very excited about performing, explaining that she wants her children and grandchildren to say “‘mum did Eurovision’… and I’ll be very happy about that.”
Although Cascada is a band, they were happy to leave the singer as a soloist for the performance. “They like me being the face of our band,” she said.
As the Grand Final gets closer, Natalie explained that she still gets very nervous. And as she prepares for the big gig, Cascada’s singer confessed that she talks too much, so she plans to “learn to shut up a bit.”
